Ques:- Two trains are on same track and they are coming toward each other. The speed of first train is 50 KMs/h and the speed of second train is 70 KMs/h. A bee starts flying between the trains when the distance between two trains is 100 KMs. The bee first flies from first train to second train. Once it reaches the second train, it flies back to the second train ? and so on until trains collide. Calculate the total distance traveled by the bee. Speed of bee is 40 KMs/h. .
Recent Answer : Added by DK BOSS On 2021-07-15 09:17:12:

Answer: 66.67 km approx.

Solution:

Let the first train A move at u km/h.
Let the second train B move at v km/h.
Let the distance between two trains be d km
Let the speed of bee be b km/h
Therefore, the time taken by trains to collide = d/(u+v)
Now putting all the known values into the above equation, we get,

u = 50 km/hr
v = 70 km/hr
d = 100 km
b = 80 km/hr

Therfore, the total distance travelled by bee
= b*d/(u+v)
= 80 * 100/(50+70)
= 66.67 km (approx)

Ques:- There are five thieves, each loot a bakery one after the other such that the first one takes 1/2 of the total no. of the breads plus 1/2 of a bread. Similarly 2nd, 3rd,4th and 5th also did the same. After the fifth one no. of breads remained are 3. Initially how many breads were there?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 11:59:42:

Friends,
The Answer given by ‘Gaurav Sharma’ is correct and
the approach (bottom to top) suggested by ‘Shailesh’ is
good. But with minor correction we can arrive the solution
using this approach:
After 5th loot, No. of breads left = 3
after 4th loot, no. of breads left = (3+0.5)x2 = 7
after 3rd loot, no. of breads left = (7+0.5)x2 = 15
after 2nd loot, no. of breads left = (15+0.5)x2 = 31
after 1st loot, no. of breads left = (31+0.5)x2 = 63
So, before 1st loot, no. of breads left = (63+0.5)x2 = 127
