Ques:- A can do a piece of work in 12 days. When he had worked for 2 days B joins him. If the complete work was finished in 8 days. In how many days B alone can finish the work?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2022-09-29 15:25:12:

The work done by A in 8 days is = 8/ 12 = 2/3

Means A alone completes 2/3 part of work.

Remaining work which is (1–2/3) = 1/3 is completed by B in 8–2 = 6 days

So the complete work done by B in 6/(1/3) = 18 days.

B alone can complete the work in 18 days.

Ques:- Two trains of equal length when moving in opposite direction takes 5 sec. to cross each other completely and when moving in same direction takes 15 sec. Find the ratio of their speed.
Recent Answer : Added by Deven Sharma On 2023-05-31 18:18:48:

Let’s assume the length of each train is ‘L’ and the speeds of the two trains are ‘V₁’ and ‘V₂’ respectively.

When the trains are moving in the opposite direction, their relative speed is the sum of their individual speeds. The total distance they need to cover is the sum of their lengths. Since they cross each other completely in 5 seconds, we can set up the following equation:

(V₁ + V₂) × 5 = 2L

When the trains are moving in the same direction, their relative speed is the difference between their individual speeds. The total distance they need to cover is the difference between their lengths. Since they cross each other completely in 15 seconds, we can set up the following equation:

(V₁ – V₂) × 15 = 2L

Now, let’s solve these equations to find the ratio of their speeds.

From the first equation, we have:
(V₁ + V₂) × 5 = 2L
V₁ + V₂ = (2L) / 5

From the second equation, we have:
(V₁ – V₂) × 15 = 2L
V₁ – V₂ = (2L) / 15

Let’s add these two equations together:
V₁ + V₂ + V₁ – V₂ = (2L) / 5 + (2L) / 15
2V₁ = (6L + 2L) / 15
2V₁ = (8L) / 15
V₁ = (4L) / 15

So, the speed of the first train is (4L) / 15.

Now, let’s substitute this value back into the first equation to find V₂:
(4L) / 15 + V₂ = (2L) / 5
V₂ = (2L) / 5 – (4L) / 15
V₂ = (6L – 4L) / 15
V₂ = (2L) / 15

Therefore, the speed of the second train is (2L) / 15.

The ratio of their speeds is given by:
(V₁ / V₂) = ((4L) / 15) / ((2L) / 15)
(V₁ / V₂) = 4L / 2L
(V₁ / V₂) = 2

So, the ratio of their speeds is 2:1.

Ques:- Which is the largest?
A. (125)^15
B. (5)^125
C. (625)^20
D. (25)^10
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:02:23:

125^15 would be 5^18
625^20 would be 5^24
25^10 would yield 5^12
so
The answer is b) i.e. 5^125

Ques:- Kiran travels from A to B by car and returns from B to A by cycle in 7 hours. If he travels both ways by car he saves 3 hours. What is the time taken to cover both ways by cycle?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2022-09-29 15:39:35:

x (A to B by car) + y (B to A by cycle) is 7 hours

x (A to B by car) + x (B to A by car) is 7 minus 3 is 4 hours

2x is 4 and hence x is 2

2 + y is 7 and hence y is 5

y (A to B by cycle) + y (B to A by cycle) is 5 + 5 is 10 hours
