Ques:- What is the value of (p-1)3 when p=15/18+5/16-20/24?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:03:16:

p=5/6+5/16-5/6
both 5/6’s get cancelled.
so, p=5/16
p=0.3125, therefore (p-1)3 value is (0.3125-1)3= -0.6875*3
=-2.0625.

Ques:- Mr. T has a wrong weighing pan. One arm is lengthier than other. 1 kilogram on left balances 8 melons on right. 1 kilogram on right balances 2 melons on left. If all melons are equal in weight,what is the weight of a single melon?
Recent Answer : Added by samarth khare On 2021-06-23 17:56:06:

Suppose the lengthier arm of weighing pan is of x cm and other arm is y cm .Also let weight if each melon be m kg.
so applying equilibrium of torque principles ,we get
case 1:-
1x-8my=0
case 2:-
2mx-1y=0
using case 1 equation , we substitute value of x into case 2 equation;
16mmy-1y=0
(16mm-1)y=0
y is length of weighing arm and cannot be 0,
therefore ,
16mm-1 =0
16mm=1
mm=1/16
m= square root (1/16)
m=+-1/4
m is weight of melon and cant be negative.
Hence m, weight of one melon is 1/4 kg

Ques:- 100 glasses are there. A servant has to supply glasses to a person If he supplies the glasses without any damage he will get 3 paise otherwise he will loose 3 paise. At the end of supplying 100 glasses if he gets 270 paise, how many glasses were supplied safely.
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2020-05-17 12:02:10:

Suppose that x glassses are supplied safely , therefore
(100-x) glases are damage. Then equation is :
3x – 3(100-x) = 270
on solving this equation value of x comes out to be 95.

Ques:- A coffee shop blends 2 kinds of coffee,putting in 2 parts of a 33p. a gm. grade to 1 part of a 24p. a gm.If the mixture is changed to 1 part of the 33p. a gm. to 2 parts of the less expensive grade,how much will the shop save in blending 100 gms.
Recent Answer : Added by Ashu On 2021-01-30 01:20:12:

Initially (2*33 + 1*24)/(2+1) = 30p a gm
So, cost for 100g = 100*30 = 3000p

Later, (1*33 + 2*24)/(1+2) = 71/3 p a gm.
So, cost for 100g = 100*(71/3) = 2366.67p

He saves 3000 – 2366.67 = 633.33p

Concept of weighted average.

Recent Answer : Added by Pankhudi Agarwal On 2020-10-02 05:47:29:

let the 4 digit number be ABCD.
First Digit is A :
Therefore; according to the question
A=B/3
B=3A
C=A+B=A+3A=4A
D=3B=3(3A)=9A
Since the last Digit is D and it can neither be double-digit nor 0 ;
Therefore ;
A=1;
B=3A=3(1)=3
C=A+B=1+3=4
D=9A=9(1)=9
Therefore, the 4 digit number is 1349.
