Ques:- A man purchased 15 pens, 12 books, 10 pencils and 5 erasers. The cost of each pen is Rs.36, each book is Rs.45, each pencil is Rs.8, and the cost of each eraser is Rs.40 less than the combined costs of pen and pencil. Find the total amount spent?
Recent Answer : Added by Admin On 2022-09-29 18:50:44:

Solution:

As given, we have,

The cost of one pen = 36 Rs.

So, the cost of 15 pens = 36 × 15 = 540 Rs.

The cost of one book = 45 Rs.

So, the cost of 12 books = 45 × 12 = 540 Rs.

The cost of one pencil = 8 Rs.

So, the cost of 10 pencils = 8 × 10 = 80 Rs.

Now,

the cost of each eraser is 40 Rs. less than the combined costs of pen and pencil.

So,

Combined costs of pen and pencil = 36 + 8 = 44 Rs.

Cost of one eraser = 44 – 40 = 4 Rs.

So, the cost of 5 erasers = 4 × 5 = 20 Rs.

Hence,

The total amount spent is

Hence, the total amount spent is 1180 Rs.

Ques:- A computer printer produces 176400 lines in a given day. If the printer is in operation for 7 hrs during the day how many lines did it print per minute?
Recent Answer : Added by Alex On 2022-04-02 06:58:03:

I think speed of printing per minute has nothing do to with how long printer being at work.

If “given day” = 8 hours.
8h = 480m

x = 176400 / 480 = 367.5 lines per minute.

Ques:- A person needs 6 steps to cover a distance of one slab. If he increases his foot length (step length) by 3 inches, he needs only 5 steps to cover the slabs length. What is the length of the each slab
Recent Answer : Added by Gary On 2021-08-23 11:42:46:

90 inches

Slab = 6(x) where x is each step
Slab = 5(x + 3)

6(x) = 5(x + 3)
6(x) = 5(x) + 15
x = 15 inches

So 6(x) = 6(15) = 90

Check: 5( x + 3) = 5(18) = 90

Slab size is 90 inches
